Whenever anybody travelling in my cab mentions they are visiting Oxfordshire for a few days it is pretty much a shoe-in that a visit to this world famous outlet is snucked in their agenda somewhere.
In whatever life you lead there cannot be too many humans here on planet earth that can resist a ‘pwoper’ bargain and this place can sucker in the best.
As a resident of Oxenford I generally resist the temptation of visiting this gaff too often (bejesus) and when I do (get dragged over) visit it is generally when my children (over 18 and under 30) want to go – but go there with the strict intention of window licking only!
But this place has a clever magnetism and it isn’t for the faint-hearted or thrift dodgers.
The legendary Houdini would struggle to undo the chain of locks around my wallet at the best of times but somehow this village and its atmosphere can somehow melt away the locks and set yours truly free to bag a proverbial bargain or three.
You will also notice that there is a large case of head swelling going on whilst shopping especially with the ‘how many bags can you actually carry’ to the train, car or taxi brigade.
To compete the more swankier the bags the better!
The village has over 160 designer brands and is around a 35/40 minute drive from Witney. There are several places to eat and make a day of it.
So, if you are planning to stay in the Witney area and would like to book a taxi to take you to this award winning outlet please call in advance and book one of the DMS taxis deals that are on offer.
Witney OX28 addresses – Bicester Village (one way) £52
Witney OX28 addresses – Bicester Village (return) £90* (min stay 1 hr max stay 6 hr)
The pictures used in this write up (would you believe) show an alarming lack of shoppers…but on most weekends you cannot see the paving slabs for people. So choose a weekday with DMS taxis and enjoy the place a little more to yourself.
Mon – Fri dates available between 9.30 am & 6 pm.
